The Kuncheng Hu Challenge was set up to support students from the UWC Changshu who were unable to make it back to their campus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Head of School set himself a challenge of completing 100 trips around the Kuncheng Hu Lake, a distance almost equivalent to the 13.1 miles of a half marathon. I joined this effort together with some fellow graduates from the UWC Atlantic, class of 2001 and 2002. I ran the equivalent distance around the lake on two separate occasions. I did the first run as a solo effort.
I did the second run in partnership the the Head of School, and my former Dorm Parent, Dr. Pelham Lindfield Roberts. My run began at 6 am Eastern Standard Time, and he began his trip at 7 pm China Standard Time.
