The Caribbean Student Alliance was established in September, 2025 at Episcopal High School to bring Caribbean students and fans of the Caribbean together in an educational and celebratory space.
Almost 2 months after the group's formation, hurricane Melissa ravaged about twothirds of Jamaica causing, at a minimum, USD$6 billion worth of damage. Recognizing the need for assistance to their fellow citizens, Jacob Orelue '26 and Cole Brown '29, both from Jamaica, mobilized the group's members to begin the work of raising funds to help provide the basic goods that people were lacking. The Caribbean Student Alliance, CSA, collaborated with their faculty Advisor, Mr. Patrick Young and Mr. Young's wife, Mrs. Sherelle Young, to create a bake sale. The bake sale was sponsored by Mrs. Young's baking boutique business, The Sweetest Touch- Balloons and Batter.
In additoin to the Bake Sale, Jacob and Cole are also running an online fundraising campaign with the website Givebutter. 100% of the funds raised goes to the cause without the expense of service fees as is common on some of the other platforms. You can support Jacob's and Cole's fundraiser by clicking on this link (https://givebutter.com/CSA4JA-EHS) to donate to their fundraiser. All funds raised will be directed to relief efforts in the Parish of Trelawny (see map on the Active Projects landing page) which was also badly damaged but has received less attention to date in comparison to the neighboring parish of St. Elizabeth (landfall location). A Local non-profit, Food For The Poor, will lead the relief efforts on the ground.
